Cynthia McNeil

I grew up in the mid coast area and graduated from Camden Rockport High School. I attended the University of Maine and graduated in 1989 with a degree in elementary education and a concentration in French.  My first teaching job was in Palmyra, Maine where I taught third grade.  After 2 years, I left the classroom and returned to UMaine fulltime to pursue a Master’s degree in Counselor Education.  (My husband did the same and we had all but one class together!)  Upon graduating, I returned to Palmyra (and Corinna too) where I was an elementary guidance counselor for 5 years.  I then took time off to raise our two daughters.  I returned to education when my youngest daughter started kindergarten in 2008.  My first position at the George J. Mitchell School was working in the Title 1 program.  After 4 years as a reading tutor, I began my current position as an ELL teacher.  When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, travelling and going to the beach.  I love Golden Retrievers too.
